Hardwood definitely gets more return for the value. Laminate is just--- laminate. Wood is a natural material, unique like a fingerprint. A gorgeous red oak has so much movement and drama to it. Old house or new-- the only choice for me in main living areas is hardwood. Plank by plank unfinished, not the prefinished strips or sections. You can always tell...............
